Dr. D’Arcy Durand is a highly respected orthopedic surgeon in Canada and the Founder & Surgical Director of Harmony Surgical Access. He is also the Co-Founder and Surgical Director of Alberta Surgical Group, a high-volume surgical hospital performing over 5,000 procedures annually.
With nearly two decades of experience in advanced knee surgery, Dr. Durand is widely recognized for his innovation, surgical precision, and commitment to patient-centered care. He was the first surgeon in Western Canada to introduce Johnson & Johnson’s VELYS™ robotic-assisted total knee replacement platform, helping to advance surgical precision, improve patient outcomes, reduce post-operative pain, and support faster recovery.
Dr. Durand also serves as a national trainer and instructor for Johnson & Johnson, where he educates and certifies surgeons across Canada in robotic-assisted knee replacement technology.
He currently performs nearly 1,000 knee procedures annually and is among a select group of Canadian surgeons with the expertise to manage complex primary total knee replacements as well as advanced sports-related knee reconstructions. He is particularly known for treating challenging and revision cases referred from across Western Canada.
Dr. Durand completed prestigious subspecialty fellowship training at the Melbourne Knee Fellowship in Australia and at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, focusing on advanced lower limb reconstruction surgery.
Dr. Durand currently holds leadership and professional positions on the Alberta Orthopedic Society Executive, Edmonton Orthopedics Executive, and Soft Tissue Knee Lead in the Edmonton Zone.
